A Shy Bird

The Sora, Porzana carolina, with its “candy corn” bill and stubby chicken-like tail, is an elusive bird with a very provocative call. Here’s a video in which you can hear the bird but you can’t see it even though it is just inside the willow thickets; plus some still frames which I was lucky to catch.

Sora, also known as “meadow chicken”.
